Abstract
Overtraining injuries often hinder female basketball players from achieving optimal performance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between training volume and knee injury risk in female basketball players. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted, involving 45 female basketball players in Surakarta. Data were collected using the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center (OSTRC) questionnaire to assess the severity of knee injuries. The results showed that most respondents experienced minor injuries (68.9%), followed by moderate injuries (20.0%) and severe injuries (11.1%). Spearman's statistical test indicated no significant relationship between training volume and knee injury risk (p = 0.212). These findings suggest that other factors, such as biomechanics, hormonal influences, neuromuscular factors, and training patterns, play a more critical role in increasing the risk of knee injuries. Therefore, a more comprehensive prevention strategy, including muscle strengthening, training load management, and regular physical condition monitoring, is needed to minimize knee injury risk in female basketball players.
