Abstract

Sustainable tourism is tourism that is responsible for the environment, local communities and the economy. Janti Village is one of the villages in Polanharjo District, Klaten Regency. Polanharjo District is an area that has many springs. Lack of promotion is also a problem factor that causes some tourist attractions in Janti Village to be less well-known. This study aims to (1) Analyze Tourism Characteristics, (2) Analyze the implementation of sustainable tourism in Janti Village, Klaten, (3) Formulate sustainable tourism development strategies. The method used is the qualitative method of SWOT IFAS and EFAS analysis, using the SWOT Matrix. The results of this study are (1) Tourism Characteristics in Janti Village which relies on the potential of natural scenery and abundant springs, there are 10 tourist destinations in Janti Village, Klaten. (2) The implementation of sustainable tourism in Janti Village shows positive developments in terms of environment, social and economy. The tourism environment is kept clean and waste management is managed properly. The community plays an active role in the management and involvement of tourism and tourism in Janti Village has a good impact, namely improving the quality and standard of living of the community. Tourism opens up employment opportunities for the community, thereby increasing community income. The total score results of Janti Park and Lokabatari have the highest score with a total score of 74. While the lowest score is Pancingan Omah Iwak 2000 with a total score of 57, Pancingan Putriana 51 with a score of 56 and Pancingan 55 Lesehan and Gazebo with a total score of 57, meaning that there needs to be optimization of the implementation of sustainable tourism in these tourist destinations. (3) The position of the SWOT matrix shows that sustainable tourism in Janti Village is in quadrant 1, namely in the stable growth section, namely a sustainable development strategy with the implementation of a gradual strategy according to existing conditions.
