Abstract

PT. XYZ is a company engaged in the textile industry. The products produced by PT.XYZ are fabrics (grey). The Rifa machine is one type of machine used for the production of woven fabrics at PT.XYZ. The products produced by the Rifa machine in 2021 only produced 9147098 yards of fabric from 10747718 yards or only 85% of the target that had been set. Therefore, an analysis and calculation of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) was carried out to determine the OEE value and achieve the applied OEE value of ≥84.66%, and using the Six Big Losses method to determine which factors are the most dominant in contributing to losses. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of effectiveness of the Rifa machine using the OEE method, to determine the losses incurred using the six big losses method and to offer improvement efforts that must be made using the fishbone diagram analysis. Based on the results of the OEE calculation on the Rifa machine during the January-December 2021 period, an average of 61% was obtained. Based on the analysis of the six big losses, the most dominant factor that caused the greatest losses was breakdown losses, which was 0.24 with a percentage of 46.9%.
