Abstract

Degraded land from ex-soil quarrying in Boyolali Regency needs to be repurposed due to its poor condition. This study examines the utilization of degraded land from former soil quarry sites in Boyolali Regency for the design of technology-based agriculture (smart farming) and agroeducation. The mining activities in this area have led to a decline in soil quality, rendering the land barren and unproductive. Through the application of smart farming concepts, technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), sensors, and data analytics are employed to enhance land management efficiency. This approach optimizes the use of resources such as water, fertilizers, and energy with precision, thereby minimizing negative environmental impacts. Additionally, the agroeducation concept is implemented to raise community awareness of the importance of sustainable farming practices, which can restore soil fertility and maintain ecosystem balance. The research methodology includes primary data collection through field observations and secondary data from relevant literature. Data analysis is conducted to formulate planning and architectural design concepts that support optimal land revitalization. This study aims to provide architectural design recommendations that integrate smart farming technologies with educational concepts for the community, with the expectation of improving agricultural productivity, food security, and the local economy in Boyolali Regency.
