Abstract

An egg incubator is a closed room equipped with an artificial heater that is used to incubate and hatch eggs. Incubating eggs with an incubator is usually used because there are quite a lot of eggs to be hatched. Breeders who have large capital usually prefer to use incubators because using incubators is considered more efficient and effective. Ordinary egg incubators are equipped with heaters, automatic egg turners, and temperature sensors so that the temperature inside the incubator can be maintained. It is hoped that this study will make it easier to monitor the temperature and humidity of several incubators. It is also hoped that this incubator will make things easier for breeders because the incubator works automatically. This research uses ESP32 and ESP8266 as microcontrollers as well as SHTC3 temperature and humidity sensors. There are several incubators (nodes) that are connected wirelessly using the ESP-MESH communication protocol and connected to the gateway. Temperature and humidity are displayed on the LCD display and the Thinger.io IoT platform is used to make temperature and humidity monitoring easier. The Thinger.io IoT platform is also used to make it easier for farmers to regulate temperature, humidity and egg turning. This study shows the accuracy of the SHTC3 sensor for temperature and humidity measurements. The maximum error obtained in temperature measurements was 0.79% and the maximum error obtained in humidity measurements was 7.69%. The data exchange process between Thinger.io and the node runs well.
