Abstract

In the transition from the digital era 4.0 to 5.0, technological advancements have significantly impacted various aspects of life, especially in the education sector. Digital literacy has become an essential skill that students must possess to effectively access and process information. The use of technology-based learning media, such as the Canva application, can enhance efficiency and interactivity in the teaching and learning process. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the Canva application as a learning medium for Aqidah Akhlak in improving the digital literacy of eighth-grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 7 Program Unggulan Colomadu and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its usage. The type of research employed is qualitative, with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the Canva application has a positive impact, enabling students to be more creative, understand the material of Aqidah Akhlak in a more 2 visual way, and improve their digital skills. The interaction between teachers and students has also increased, creating a more collaborative learning environment. Supporting factors for the use of Canva include the availability of digital devices and teacher support, while inhibiting factors include time constraints in learning and technical difficulties experienced by some students. In conclusion, Canva is an effective learning medium for enhancing digital literacy and understanding abstract concepts in the subject of Aqidah Akhlak, although attention must be given to the existing challenges.
