Abstract

Online food delivery services are increasingly developing along with the increasing mobility of modern society. One of the main challenges in this service is keeping the temperature of food or drinks stable during delivery. Therefore, this research aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT) based food or drink warmer using the Blynk application for temperature monitoring and control. This tool uses an ESP32 microcontroller, DHT22 sensor, heater as a heating element, DC fan as heat distribution, and a stepdown module to supply voltage to the components. The ESP32 functions to read data from the DHT22 sensor and control the heater based on the target temperature set via the Blynk application. Data on temperature, humidity, target temperature and heater status can be monitored in real time via smartphone. The test results show that the tool is able to maintain the temperature of food or drinks close to the target with an average temperature reading error of 3.09% and humidity of 2.08%. In static testing, this tool shows efficiency in maintaining the target temperature. Meanwhile, in dynamic testing, namely testing carried by motorbike with food or drink in it, with a motorbike speed of 20-25 km/hour, this tool is able to maintain temperature stability and minimal spillage on food or drink objects, except for soupy foods that require additional packaging.
