Abstract

The management of oil palm plantations in Muara Jambi Regency faces sustainability challenges due to market price fluctuations, international pressure regarding environmental issues, and farmers' dependence on middlemen. This study aims to formulate a sustainability strategy based on SWOT analysis and the TOWS Matrix to enhance the competitiveness of this sector through a triple bottom line approach (economic, social, and environmental). The research employs a mixed-methods approach, collecting primary data through in-depth interviews, FGDs (Focus Group Discussions), field observations, and secondary data from relevant literature. The findings reveal that the main strength of this sector lies in fertile land and institutional support, while the greatest opportunity comes from the global demand for biodiesel. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of product diversification, digitalization, and strengthening cooperatives within a triple bottom line-based sustainability strategy. The study contributes practical recommendations, such as assisting smallholder farmers and adopting environmentally friendly technologies, to improve the integrated sustainability of oil palm plantations.
