Abstract
A landslide is a geological event that occurs when a mass of soil, rock, or other material moves down or off a slope. Generally, landslides occur in mountainous areas due to unstable slope conditions. It was recorded that a landslide occurred on the slopes of Mount Merbabu on Jalan Magelang-Boyolali Kilometer (Km) 18, precisely in Gintung Hamlet, Ketep Village, Sawangan District, Magelang Regency, Thursday (11/11/2021) at 20.00 WIB. Therefore, to prevent more casualties, the author tried to make a landslide detection device design on the slopes of Mount Merbabu. The system is equipped with an Arduino nano as a microcontroller and soil moisture sensor. This system will be equipped with solar panels as a power source so that it can be placed on roads that are not reached by PLN's power sources. Then the source of electrical energy generated from the solar panels will be stored on the battery. In addition, there is also a warning feature in the form of a buzzer as an alarm siren supported by an indicator light of danger. This system is designed with 3 conditions, namely safe, alert, and alert. In safe conditions, it is when the soil is in a stationary state and does not move, in standby conditions it is when the soil moisture sensor detects the soil in a wet condition, then in the alert condition is when the soil experiences a landslide. From the results of the tool test, the alarm siren will sound when the ground shifts by 10 cm, and the response time of both indicators, the alarm siren and the hazard light, is quite good, averaging 1 second.
