Abstract
Ergonomic problems often arise in the workplace, one of which is complaints about musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) which are one of the main causes of global disability. Several factors in the workplace that have the potential to cause MSDs include repetitive movements, constant loads, body posture while working, visual stress, pressure, and physical strength. Common working positions include standing, squatting, sitting, bending, and walking. This study aims to determine the relationship between ergonomic attitudes and complaints of musculoskeletal disorders in informal sector workers in the badminton industry. The method used in this study is a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional survey approach and purposive sampling technique, involving 60 badminton craftsmen as respondents. The Rapid Upper Extremity Body Assessment (RULA) assessment was used to determine the risk level of work posture, while the Nordic Body Map (NBM) was used to analyze the distribution of musculoskeletal disorders experienced by the craftsmen. Through the Spearman Rank Correlation test, it was found that there was no significant relationship between work posture and MSD complaints in badminton craftsmen, with a p value = 0.167.
