Abstract

Land cover change is a problem that often occurs due to the increase of population growth every year in Kalijambe Sub-district. This has an impact on land use change that has also increased. Several factors become the drivers of land change such as population, accessibility and topography. As Kalijambe Sub-district also experienced land change, a research was conducted with the aim of (1) Analyzing land cover change in Kalijambe Sub-district in 2019 and 2024. (2) To analyze the factors that can support the land cover change in Kalijambe Sub-district in 2019 and 2024. (3) Analyzing the distribution pattern of land cover change in Kalijambe Sub-district in 2019 and 2024. The object of the research is land cover change in Kalijambe Sub-district within 6 years. This research uses secondary data analysis method in the form of sentinel 2A image data in 2019 and 2024 with geographic information system complemented with field survey. ROI sampling used Purposive Sampling with Stratified Random Sampling accuracy test sample. Data processing was conducted on the Google Earth Engine Platform to determine the classification of land cover. Analysis of land cover change using land cover map overlaying technique in 2019 and 2024. The results of this study show that land cover change amounted to 240.76 ha which is dominated by the type of land cover from paddy fields to built-up land with an area of 83.85 ha and vacant land cover to built-up land with an area of 36.19 ha. Factors that influence land cover change include topography, population, accessibility and infrastructure. The distribution pattern of land cover change in Kalijambe Sub-district is categorized as clustering pattern with Z-score value of -8.029919 and NNR of 0.539276.
