Abstract

Infrastructure development in the construction world and especially in Indonesia is growing so rapidly. One of the materials that are often used today is concrete, the demand for building materials for making concrete is also getting higher. The aim of this research is to investigate the feasibility of utilizing discarded marble materials in concrete manufacturing, specifically analyzing its impact on compressive strength and split tensile strength. This study was carried out by partially replacing fine aggregate with marble powder at substitution levels of 18%, 20%, 22%, and 24%, followed by conducting tests on compressive strength, split tensile strength, and water absorption. The results showed that the use of marble powder as a substitute for fine aggregate in the manufacture of concrete in terms of compressive strength, split tensile strength, and absorption, namely the addition of marble powder waste at presentations of 18%, 20%, 22% and 24% as a substitute for fine aggregate in concrete mixes affects the decrease in workability of concrete compressive strength, split tensile strength and absorption of concrete marked by (1) The smallest decrease in compressive strength occurred in samples with 18% marble powder substitution. (2) The absorption value of concrete increases as the percentage of marble powder waste substitution increases. (3) The smallest decrease in splitting occurred in samples with 18% marble powder substitution .
