Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease associated with increased blood pressure and can be a causal factor or impact of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). According to data from the Indonesian Renal Registry (IRR), hypertension is always the most common accompanying disease experienced by patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Hemodialysis helps replace kidney function, but does not completely restore the body's metabolic function. In addition to affecting physical conditions, hypertension affects the activity of daily living (ADL) and quality of life of patients. This study aims to describe the ADL and quality of life of hypertensive patients undergoing hemodialysis. Using a descriptive quantitative method with a total sampling technique, 30 respondents were selected as samples. Data were collected through the Barthel Index and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaires. The results showed the level of ADL independence of hypertensive patients, namely full independence (1 respondent, 3.3%), mild dependence (24 respondents, 80%), moderate dependence (2 respondents, 6.7%), severe dependence (2 respondents, 6.7%), and total dependence (1 respondent, 3.3%). For quality of life, the physical health domain is classified as sufficient (1 respondent, 3.3%), and lacking (29 respondents, 96.7%). The psychological health domain is classified as good (1 respondent, 3.3%), sufficient (11 respondents, 36.7%), and lacking (18 respondents, 60%). In the social relationship domain, the results are good (1 respondent, 3.3%), sufficient (24 respondents, 80.0%), lacking (5 respondents, 16.7%). The environmental relationship domain is classified as good (2 respondents, 6.7%), sufficient (21 respondents, 70%), and lacking (7 respondents, 23.3%).
