Abstract
The roof tile industry is an informal sector that often experiences work accidents, proven to be one of the factors due to a lack of knowledge about occupational safety and health. This industry is known as one of the rural businesses that has developed for generations, making a significant contribution to employment and community income. This research aims to determine the relationship between occupational safety and health knowledge and the incidence of work accidents in the tile industry in Bekonang village, Sukoharjo. This type of research was analytical observational using quantitative methods with a cross sectional approach. The total sample was 56 respondents with sample determination using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire that has been tested as valid and reliable. Data analysis used the chi-square test. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between K3 knowledge and the incidence of work accidents (p=0.001). The conclusion of this research were that knowledge about K3 has a significant influence on accidents experienced by workers. Workers who understand K3 principles tend to be better able to identify potential hazards and take appropriate preventative steps, thereby reducing the risk of workplace accidents. To reduce the number of work accidents, industry should implement regular K3 training programs for all workers.
