Abstract

This research aims to analyze the representation of feminism of female characters in the film "Yuni" using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. This film was chosen because it offers a rich narrative about a woman's journey in facing various challenges in her life. Through semiotic analysis, this research explores how the symbols and signs in the film depict the concept of feminism as reflected through the main character, Yuni. In this film there is a moral message that is very constructive and in accordance with actual events in society, one of which is the film Yuni. A film that depicts the role of a woman struggling to find her identity. In this research, the research method is generally descriptive qualitative with semiotic analysis as an analytical tool. The focus is how to represent the meaning of the moral message in the film Yuni using Roland Barthes' Semiotic Analysis Method. Shooting techniques, representation, and moral values. Roland Barthes' semiotics uses semiological analysis tools in the form of denotative, connotative and mythical meanings, which are then divided into signifiers and signifiers, denotation level and connotation level. This research produces a representation of Marxist-Socialist type of feminism which can be shown that women are different from men in terms of class division, patriarchy, sex, and capitalism.
