Abstract

Traffic violations are acts committed by the public while driving on the road that are considered to be in conflict with Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Traffic and Road Transportation. There are several types of violations committed by the public and the regulation of fines as a form of accountability for these actions. Law enforcement against traffic violations continues to be carried out, one of which is through technological innovation in law enforcement through the implementation of ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement). This study uses an empirical legal approach method by examining regulations with research, especially in the jurisdiction of the Surakarta Police. The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine the implementation of ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement), which has been running for 3 (three) years; 2) To determine the obstacles to the implementation of ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) related to the mechanism of law enforcement and the solutions that must be taken if there are obstacles in the community or related parties. (3) To determine that the enforcement of traffic violations of regulations that have been set is in accordance with the principles of law enforcement according to Islamic law. All efforts to enforce traffic violations are intended to ensure that the public understands and complies with traffic regulations, thereby creating safe, orderly, and smooth traffic in the community.
