Abstract

This study aims to determine the comparison of Butt Joint and Lap Joint welding joints on tensile strength and hardness values in aluminum welding. The aluminum used is 6061 series with a thickness of 4.5 mm. The material is given a welding treatment with a current variation of 100 A and 120 A with the GTAW welding method with ER4043 filler material with a square bevel. After the welding process two tests were carried out on the specimen, namely tensile testing and Rockwell testing. From the tests that have been carried out, tensile strength and hardness values were obtained. From the results of the data obtained, it can be concluded that Butt Joint welding joints have higher tensile strength and hardness values than Lap Joint welding joints.
