Abstract
Climate change is a global phenomenon that occurs when environmental conditions experience significant changes or anomalies from their usual patterns over a long period of time, often over decades or even hundreds of years. South Sumatra province is also not free from the effects of climate change. As one of the rapidly developing provinces, changes in surface temperature in this region need special attention. Palembang City and Lubuklinggau City are two main cities in South Sumatra that have different demographic and geographical characteristics. The purpose of the study is to explain the factors that influence changes in surface temperature in the two cities during 2019 and 2023, analyze the comparison of surface temperatures in Palembang City and Lubuklinggau City in 2019 and 2023 and analyze the impact of changes in surface temperature on the environment in Palembang City and Lubuklinggau City. The method used in this study is the LST (Land Surface Temperature) method, namely by collecting secondary data such as T°. the results of the processing show that Lubuklinggau City in 2019 had the lowest temperature of 9.51°C, the highest temperature of 31.61°C and an average temperature of 20.3°C, in 2023 it had the lowest temperature of 11.5°C, the highest temperature of 29.47°C and an average temperature of 22.46°C, the results of the processing show that Palembang City in 2019 had the lowest temperature of 19.7°C, the highest temperature of 39.5°C and an average temperature of 29.6°C and in 2023 it had the lowest temperature of 19.6°C, the highest temperature of 37.9°C and an average temperature of 28.7°C.
