Abstract

Population growth is an important indicator for a country and has a significant impact on economic development. In Indonesia, this growth is often accompanied by issues of poverty, which drive mobility to areas with better economic opportunities. The informal sector, including street vendors (PKL) and micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM), plays a crucial role in absorbing the workforce, especially for low-skilled migrants. The objectives of this research are as follows: (1) to analyze the social and economic conditions of the vendors, (2) to analyze the mobility of streetvendors from their areas of origin in the Tirtonadi Dam Tourism Area, Solo. The method used in this study is a survey method involving questionnaires with 39 respondents, consisting of 31 street vendors and 8 stall vendors from UMKM. Data processing includes editing the data and creating tables for each variable. Based on the interview data from street 2 vendors and UMKM stall vendors, the following results were obtained: (1) The social characteristics of vendors in the Tirtonadi Dam Park, Solo, are dominated by males with a high school education, with an average age of 39 years; (2) The mobility of street vendors is predominantly characterized by commuting from the village of Nusukan in Banjarsari District, using motorcycles as supporting transportation.
