Abstract

A toxic relationship is a type of behavior that harms one party in a romantic relationship. It has negative impacts on the victim, both physically and psychologically. The purpose of this study is to understand how female student victims demonstrate resilience in the face of a toxic relationship. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing snowball to select five participants aged 19-23. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect data, which was then analyzed using thematic analysis, The findings indicate that the participants experienced harmful behavior both verbally and nonverbally, resulting in negative psychological effects such as sadness, trauma, low self-esteem, and even a diagnosis of bipolar disorder in some cases. To build resilience, the participants engaged in self-improvement, keeping themselves busy, sharing their experiences and seeking support from friends or family, and consulting with a psychiatrist. These resilience strategies positively impacted the participants, helping them feel calmer and more motivated
