Abstract
This research examines the influence of economic and non-economic variables on FDI in ASEAN in 2020-2022. Foreign direct investment was the dependent variable, then trade openness variables, corruption perception index, inflation, unemployment, exports, exchange rates, interest rates and electricity availability as independent variables. The empirical approach in this research involves analyzing panel data from 10 countries in ASEAN during the 2020-2022 period, using data collected from the World Bank, UNCTAD, and the IMF. The best-estimated model is the Random Effect Model (REM). The results of this research indicate that the variables of trade openness, exports and interest rates influence FDI. Meanwhile, other variables such as the corruption perception index, inflation, unemployment, exchange rate and electricity availability do not indicate any influence on foreign direct investment in ASEAN countries in 2020-2022.
