Abstract

Problems were found in class phase A regarding the condition of classroom management during the teaching and learning process at SDN 12 Sragen. The core of this study is focused on the ability of teachers in managing class phase A at SDN 12 Sragen. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability of teachers in managing learning and students in class phase A at SDN 12 Sragen. This study uses a qualitative research type. This study was conducted on three teachers in phase A (class I, class II) at SDN 12 Sragen. Data collection techniques used by researchers include observation, interviews and documentation. The instrument used in this study were observation and interview sheet. Data analysis was carried out in several ways such as data display, data reduction and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of the study and discussion related to the ability of teachers in managing learning and students in class phase A at SDN 12 Sragen, it can be concluded that class teachers in phase A at SDN 12 Sragen have the main task in the first activity class management skills, namely creating an ideal learning environment. The teacher has followed the six principles of classroom management: warmth and enthusiasm, challenge, variety, flexibility and emphasis on good things and instilling self-discipline. The second activity is in arranging the room, the teacher is quite good at arranging the room in the classroom such as the format of student seating and the placement of educational media, such as blackboards, pictures, and posters, the teacher must ensure that the media is easy for students to see and easy for the teacher to reach. Then in the third activity, the class teacher of phase A is quite good at managing teaching and learning interactions.
