Abstract
Self-efficacy is a crucial factor in managing coronary heart disease (CHD) as it influences an individual's ability to manage their health condition and quality of life. CHD patients face various challenges, including lifestyle changes and complex treatments, which can impact their quality of life. Low self-efficacy can reduce adherence to treatment, worsen the condition, and lower quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and self-management behaviors with quality of life in coronary heart disease patients at RSUD Dr. Moewardi. The study employed a quantitative design with a correlational and cross-sectional approach to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy, self-management behaviors, and quality of life in CHD patients. Data were collected through questionnaires from 287 samples selected by purposive sampling at RSUD Dr. Moewardi. Data analysis was conducted using statistical tests, including univariate and bivariate analyses to examine the relationships between variables, with normality and homogeneity tests to ensure data validity. The study results showed that most CHD patients were aged 46-65 years (30.3%) and predominantly male (57.1%). The majority had a high school education (32.6%). A total of 58.7% of patients had high self-efficacy, 66.4% demonstrated good self-management behaviors, and 77.1% had a good quality of life. There was no correlation between self-efficacy and quality of life (ρ= 0.112, p = 0.058), and a correlation between self-management behaviors and quality of life (ρ = 0.257, p = 0.000). Future research is recommended to expand the sample size and explore other factors that may affect self-efficacy and quality of life in CHD patients, such as social support and psychological conditions.
