Abstract

This research aims to determine the implementation of Village Community Empowerment Institutions (LPMD) in carrying out their duties and functions and to determine the effectiveness of Village Community Empowerment Institutions (LPMD). This research uses an empirical juridical approach, which combines a juridical approach and an empirical approach. The juridical approach is used to identify valid legislative regulations based on the Village Law, while the empirical approach is an approach to researching service conditions as they are. with data collection techniques through literature studies, interviews and questionnaires to find out the facts related to this research. Implementation of the Jemowo Village LPMD in carrying out its duties and functions based on Regional Regulation Number 17 of 2017. Jemowo LPMD cadres carry out their duties and functions well in carrying out their duties in the form of accommodating community aspirations with community deliberations from the RT level led by the Village Bayan and proposed at planning meetings. Village development at the sub-district level for the implementation of its functions is carried out in the form of mutual cooperation activities in the form of road construction.The effectiveness of the LPMD in carrying out its duties and functions can be seen from legal factors, law enforcement factors, supporting facilities and infrastructure factors, community factors, and cultural factors which have become a tradition on important days held by village officials and village residents. Of the five factors, the Community factor is not very effective because many people have minimal knowledge about LPMD and do not know the duties and functions of LPMD.
