Abstract

The reality of the condition of pre-Islamic Arab society with many ethical and moral cases and the current reality, there are indications of similarities, such as the confusion of knowledge, the loss of adab, and the emergence of leaders who are not competent in carrying out their mandate. Therefore, the study based on the order of revelation in solving ethical and moral problems at that time is interesting to be contextualized in the present. This research is intended to reveal how the pattern of character education in the Qur'an based on the order of revelation, as well as contextualize it in the world of education today. This type of research is library research. The approach used in this research is a historical approach to see the sociological-historical of Arab society at the time of the revelation and philological approach to see the structure of the language in the Qur'an. The results of this study concluded that: 1) the operational pattern of character education based on the revelation of the Qur'an includes several aspects: a) approach, namely the critical rational approach, religious humanistic, functional, experiential, emotional, and exemplary approaches. b) Educational methods include the story method, the targhib and tarhib method, the observation method, the discussion method, the comparison method, the exemplary method. c) The educational process includes ishlah al-akhlaq al-nafsiyah, ishlah al-akhlaq al-ijtima'iyah, and ishlah al-akhlaq as-asiyasiyah. d) The form of evaluation that Allah gives to his servants through a series of tests, sometimes Allah speaks with fitnah, bala' or hishab. 2) the implementation of the Qur'anic education pattern; a) the understanding of the Qur'an based on the order of revelation in the context of education in Indonesia has been preceded by Abdullah Said with the concept of SNW (Systematic Nuzul al-Wahy), b) The systematic application of character education patterns based on the order of revelation can be a solution to the moral problems that exist today. As character education has been directly practiced during the revelation of the Qur'an. Keywords: character education, tafsir nuzuli, tartib nuzul al-qur'an
