Abstract

The Village Consultative Body is an institution that has government functions whose members are representatives of the Village population based on regional representation and have an important role in making Village Regulations. This research raises a case from Sraten Village by examining the making of Village Regulations and discussing the implementation of the role of the Village Consultative Body. Good Village Regulations are regulations that are formed based on the high aspirations of the community. In order to realize a good democracy, members of the Village Consultative Body are needed who have good quality educational and work backgrounds that are appropriate to their field and play an active role in providing suggestions and input. This is in accordance with the function of the Village Consultative Body, namely accommodating and channeling aspirations from the community and supervising the implementation of Village Regulations.
