Abstract
tudents enjoy spending their money by shopping, hanging out at cafés even visiting nightclubs. That shows that they put more importance on happiness alone. The purpose of this study was to test the relationship of happiness in college students, which was reviewed by the use of leisure and lifestyle of hedonism. Then the sample in this study was a student of the Faculty of Economics & Business of Muhammadiyah University Surakarta class of 251 respondents using purposive sampling techniques. Data retrieval methods include the scale of happiness, the scale of leisure and the scale of hedonism lifestyles spread through Google Form. This study used quantitative methods with multiple regression analysis techniques with the help of SPSS version 22. The results of this study show that there is a significant relationship between leisure and lifestyle variables and happiness variables in college students (R = 0.449; sig = 0.000). The correlation coefficient in leisure variables with happiness has a significant relationship (r_xy=0.425; sig=0.000 (<0.01). while in lifestyle variables with happiness is said to have an insignificant relationship (r_xy=0.128; sig=0.022 (> 0.01). The effective contribution of the two free variables affects the bound variable by 20.2%. This study suggests that increasing leisure time and declining hedonistic lifestyles will affect student happiness. Keywords: college students, happiness, lifestyle, leisure
