Abstract
Wonogiri Regency is known for experiencing frequent droughts every year. One initiative to address this issue is the construction of water reservoirs, including the Doho Reservoir located in Girimarto District. However, the Doho Reservoir’s development not only serves to mitigate drought but also affects land use changes and provides economic and social impacts in Doho Village. Therefore, this study is needed to examine these impacts. The objective of this research is to analyze land use changes resulting from the construction of the Doho Reservoir in Doho Village,Girimarto District, Wonogiri Regency, as well as to assess its impact on economic and social aspects before and after the reservoir's establishment. The method used in this research is purposive sampling with descriptive qualitative data analysis.The findings show that the land use changes around the Doho Reservoir consist of two main types: vacant land converted into a reservoir covering an area of 1.5 hectares and vacant land utilized for horticultural agriculture covering 1.15 hectares. These changes have contributed to an increase in agricultural production value and encouraged social activities such as community meetings and other collective initiatives. Economically, the presence of the Doho Reservoir has had a significant impact. The agricultural production value, which initially reached 2.4 billion rupiah in 2019, increased to 4.8 billion rupiah in 2023. Additionally, the reservoir has become a local attraction, drawing many visitors and thereby stimulating the village economy. From a social perspective, the management of the Doho Reservoir is conducted collaboratively, which strengthens community solidarity. Furthermore, there has been an increase in educational achievement. The number of high school graduates rose from 209 in 2019 to 419 in 2023, while the number of university graduates increased from 36 to 194 over the same period. This indicates an improvement in the quality of human resources in Doho Village.
