Abstract
In campus life which is full of dynamics, forgiveness plays an important role in reducing conflict and strengthening social cohesion. An in-depth understanding of how aspects of religiosity contribute to the tendency to forgive and improve social relationships among students can provide meaningful insight into the development of character development programs in educational institutions. This study aims to investigate the relationship between forgiveness and social interaction with religiosity among university students. A quantitative correlational research design was employed, involving a sample of 221 active students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire assessing forgiveness, social interaction, and religiosity. Data analysis was performed using multiple regression analysis via SPSS software. The results indicate a significant relationship between forgiveness and social interaction in relation to the religiosity of students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, with forgiveness contributing positively at 17.33% and social interaction at 0.33%. Furthermore, the majority of respondents exhibited a high level of religiosity. This research provides insights into the importance of forgiveness and social interaction in fostering better relationships among students, along with recommendations for parents and students to enhance religiosity and the quality of social relationships through improved understanding and practice of forgiveness.
