Abstract

The background is the condition of the majority of the Kukupu Village community in Cibadak Village, Tanah Sareal District, Bogor City, regarding the Islamic ideology in Muhammadiyah which has caused social problems, especially in religious traditions and society in justifying some people who tend to practice the Muhammadiyah ideology in Kukupu Village. From this problem, a study was conducted to determine and analyze the community's response to the Islamic ideology in Muhammadiyah and the correct religious tradition or religiosity in Kukupu Village, using Mixed Methods with a Sequential Exploratory design (discovery sequence), namely the collection and analysis of qualitative data carried out in the initial stage through observation, interviews and documentation. Then followed by the collection and analysis of quantitative data in the second stage through questionnaires, using data analysis techniques in the form of numbers or commonly called statistical data analysis. The results of the qualitative and quantitative research show that the Kukupu Village community only follows religious activities that are correct according to their imams and are carried out from generation to generation, the majority of whom adhere to the understanding of Nadhatul Ulama so that the community's perception tends not to fully understand Muhammadiyah and misunderstands Muhammadiyah. The community understands that Muhammadiyah is a rigid Islamic sect that only follows what the Prophet Muhammad SAW did in ancient times.
