Abstract
Lack of knowledge about the geography of Indonesia among children of Ikaba Imaba 1 Learning Center causes a lack of understanding of the characteristics of Indonesia. The objectives of this study are, 1) to analyze the understanding of the geographical location of Indonesia among children of learning centers in Malaysia, 2) to analyze the understanding of the geographical conditions of the Indonesian archipelago among children of learning centers in Malaysia, and 3) to analyze the understanding of the diversity of Indonesia among children of learning centers in Malaysia. This study was conducted using a qualitative method with a case study research design. This study uses primary data in the form of information about facilities and infrastructure in the learning center, the environment around the learning center, the role of teachers in learning activities, the use of the curriculum used in learning, children's interest in learning in learning and children's understanding of Indonesia. The data sources in this study were obtained through interviews with informants who were children and teachers of learning centers in Malaysia, observation notes, and document analysis. The data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observations, and document analysis. The validity of the data used in this study used triangulation. The data analysis technique used is interactive analysis technique. The results of the study show that 1) the understanding of the geographical location of Indonesia among children of learning studios in Malaysia shows that children of learning studios do not know much about the geographical location of Indonesia, 2) the understanding of the geographical conditions of the Indonesian archipelago among children of learning studios in Malaysia shows that children of learning studios do not know about the geographical conditions of the Indonesian archipelago, and 3) the understanding of the diversity of Indonesia among children of learning studios in Malaysia shows that children of learning studios do not know much about the diversity of Indonesia. This is caused by several factors including, lack of student participation in learning, lack of teachers, lack of adequate facilities, an unsupportive environment, use of an inappropriate curriculum and access to educational facilities that are not supportive.
