Abstract
Stress is a general body response to the burden felt by a person. As developments progress, it is revealed that stress not only affects bodily function disorders and health problems, but also affects psychological aspects. stress is the result of the relationship between an individual and his environment, creating a perception of how much the demands of a situation originate from a person's biological, psychological and social aspects. The approach used is a quantitative method with a correlational design. Using 3 variables, namely self-regulation as an independent variable (X1), emotional intelligence as an independent variable (X2), and academic stress as a dependent/bound variable (Y). The results of this research can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-regulation of emotional intelligence with academic stress, the major hypothesis is accepted. There is a significant negative relationship between self-regulation (X1) and academic stress, and there is a significant negative relationship between emotional intelligence (X2) and academic stress, so both minor hypotheses are accepted. This means that if emotional regulation and emotional intelligence are good, the level of academic stress will decrease further. The advice given by researchers to students is to be able to better place themselves in various situations and be able to manage emotions better so that they are able to overcome various kinds of stressors. The advice given to future researchers is to set aside time to supervise filling out the questionnaire directly.
