Abstract
Bawaslu is the regulatory body responsible for overseeing elections over the whole area of the Republic of Indonesia. Its primary role is to supervise the conduct of elections, prevent and address any breaches, and ensure the realization of democratic elections. Money politics, also known as risywah (bribery) in Islamic law, is considered a breach of campaign ethics during elections. Money politics is typically conducted by supporters, party members, and even political party officials prior to the general election. They distribute money, essential goods such as rice, oil, and sugar to the public in order to gain public sympathy and secure votes for the party or specific legislative candidate. This research seeks to elucidate the policy implemented by the Sukoharjo Regency Election Supervisory Agency in 2024 to address the issue of money politics. The study employs qualitative writing methods, specifically sociological juridical research. Primary and secondary legal data serve as the main sources of information, and data collection is conducted through a literature review. The research findings indicate that the policy implemented by the Sukoharjo Regency Election Supervisory Agency in 2024 to address money politics aligns with the provisions stated in Law Number 7 of 2017 on General Elections, Article 22 E Paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, and Article 280 Paragraph (1) letter j of the General Election Law.
