Abstract

This research aims to explain fermented drinks in the tafsir of ahkam by Muhammad Ali Ash Shabuni, focusing on the interpretation of verses related to alcohol. The method used is qualitative, which emphasizes a deeper understanding of the issue at hand. In this study, data collection is conducted using the documentation method, which involves gathering existing data or obtaining data from documents. The data is sourced from both primary and secondary data. The primary source in this library research is the book "Tafsir Rawai'ul Bayan" by Muhammad Ali Ash Shabuni. The secondary sources used by the researcher include literature that is directly or indirectly related to the primary data. The findings indicate that the fermentation process produces alcohol, which can affect the halal status of the beverage. Not all types of alcohol are haram, as not all alcohol is intoxicating. However, intoxicating alcohol is considered haram. Although alcoholic beverages are prohibited, there are types of fermented drinks that are halal, such as kombucha, nabeez, or kefir, which do not contain alcohol in intoxicating levels. This depends on the production process and the types of ingredients used..
