Abstract

People's lives have changed significantly as a result of advances in information and communication technology (ICT), especially in terms of privacy protection. Online privacy policy is one of the tools that can be used to protect privacy in an ICT environment. The fundamental basis for creating an internet privacy policy that is fair and serves the interests of society can be found in the maqashid sharia approach. The primary objectives of Islamic sharia, known as maqashid sharia, are fivefold: safeguarding religion (hifdzul din), safeguarding the soul (hifdzul nafs), safeguarding property (hifdzul mal), safeguarding offspring (hifdzul nasl), and safeguarding the intellect (hifdzul 'aql). This type of research uses qualitative research (library research) with other types of research. The Shopee app serves as the subject of this investigation. The strategy used by the author is a qualitative descriptive strategy. The researcher sought to obtain information from the Shopee app for this study, which concentrated on the ways in which Shopee's user data is protected by its regulations. The research findings show that Shopee's regulations are in accordance with maqashid sharia and have a high level of security, so users can use it without worrying about data leakage.
