Abstract

Indonesia is known as an agricultural country that has a land area of 70 million hectares (Sinuwun, 2022). However, the conversion of agricultural areas continues to increase along with rapid infrastructure development and urbanization, threatening the sustainability of the agricultural sector and national food security, causing a decrease in the availability of agricultural land. Every year, approximately 100,000 hectares of land is converted (Ministry of PUPR, 2014), impacting national food availability. This land conversion is influenced by factors such as infrastructure development, migration, and population growth. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution of existing land use in Kartasura Sub-district in 2024 and evaluate its suitability with the Detailed Spatial Plan (RDTR) for the period 2012-2032. The research methods used are descriptive analysis and spatial analysis. Descriptive analysis identifies the type of land use distribution, while spatial analysis assesses the suitability of land use based on the RDTR. Kartasura sub-district has a variety of land use types, including settlements, shops, industries, public facilities, and agriculture. The evaluation of land use suitability shows three classes including suitable, unrealized, and unsuitable. The unsuitable class dominates with an area of 1,372.01 hectares (43%), mainly in Ngadirejo Village and Makamhaji Village. The unrealized class covers 350.78 hectares (11%), mostly in Wirogunan Village. The suitable class covers 1,227.15 hectares (41%), mostly in Kartasura Village. Most of the land use in Kartasura Sub-district is not in accordance with the RDTR, especially in the areas of Ngadirejo Village and Makamhaji Village. Keywords: Detailed Spatial Plan, Suitability, Land Use, Kartasura Sub-Distric.
