Abstract

Administratively, the regency is situated between the Special Region of Yogyakarta and the city of Surakarta. Therefore, Klaten Regency has the potential to be a region with significant and growing development. This is because Klaten Regency is located on a cross-provincial route, namely the Yogyakarta-Solo road, which offers opportunities to become a center for tourism, economy, and services. This planning aims to assist in developing strategic areas in Klaten Regency by designing a Convention and Exhibition Centre (CEC), creating a facility to accommodate activities in Klaten Regency and its surroundings, and designing a building that incorporates traditional philosophical elements appropriate to the local area. This study employs direct observation and literature review methods in the local area. The results of this research indicate that designing a Convention and Exhibition Centre (CEC) can aid in developing strategic areas in Klaten Regency with a design approach for buildings and regions.
