Abstract

Children from the alpha generation who are familiar with technological developments need ideal care. However, the condition of parents working can be a challenge in caring for children, especially children of the alpha generation who are entrusted to grandparents. The care provided by grandparents that is not similar to the care of parents in working couples can have an impact on child development. The purpose of this study was to determine the experience of caring for early childhood children of the alpha generation who are entrusted to grandparents. The research method used descriptive qualitative. The research informants consisted of three parents, namely fathers or mothers, who have children aged two to five years and are entrusted to grandparents for more than eight hours. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis which produced themes. The results of the study showed that two out of three informants felt that the development of children after being entrusted to grandmothers and grandfathers showed positive changes in children, namely AGP and MRF, while PAA felt that the development of children after being entrusted to grandmothers and grandfathers showed negative changes in children.
