Abstract

Marriage is one of the sacred things and requires thorough preparation. Providing premarital guidance outreach can provide psychological readiness for prospective brides and grooms, including emotional readiness. This research aims to determine the level of emotional anxiety of prospective brides and grooms in Tasikmadu sub-district before being given pre-wedding guidance and after being given pre-marital guidance. The subjects in this study were prospective brides and grooms at the Tasikmadu KUA office with a sample size of 12 prospective brides and grooms. The sampling technique used random sampling technique. The characteristics of respondents in this study include age, gender, education, and occupation. This study is an experimental study with a paired t-test experiment research design. The research data were collected using a questionnaire sheet assessing emotional maturity scales for prospective brides and grooms. Data analysis was carried out using the classical assumption test (normality and homogeneity), and hypothesis testing using the paired dependent t-test. The results of the study showed that the t-test value was -0.529 and the sig value was 0.607 (sig>0.05). Thus, H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected or there is an effect of premarital guidance on emotional maturity for prospective brides and grooms in Tasikmadu sub-district.
