Abstract

The Regional Head Election in Klaten Regency in 2020 is interesting to study, because it was won by two couples (husband and wife) for 20 years. The objectives of this study are (1) To determine the distribution of votes for the 2020 Klaten Regency regional head election, (2) To determine the distribution of bases and non-bases for the 2020 Klaten Regency regional head election, (3) To analyse the hot spots of each candidate pair for the 2020 Klaten Regency regional head election. The research uses secondary data obtained from the data on the results of the 2020 Klaten Regency vote, regional data, and various literature studies. The data analysis methods used are descriptive analysis, Geography Association Coefficient (KAG) analysis, Location Quotient (LQ), and Getis-Ord Gi* Hot spot analysis. The results showed that candidate pair 01 obtained the most votes compared to other candidate pairs, the KAG results that got the highest value were in Kemalang Subdistrict with a value of 0.024 and the KAG results with the lowest value were Karanganom Subdistrict obtaining absolute KAG 0 results (evenly distributed). The LQ results of the Pilkada vote for candidate pair 01 are in the western and eastern base areas. Candidate pair 02's base is in the southern part of Klaten and part of the northern part. Candidate pair 03 base area is in part of Klaten in the centre and northern part. Hot spot results show that the hot spot area for candidate pairs 01 and 02 is in Trucuk District and the cold spot is in Kebonarum District while other sub-districts with not significant results. The hot spot area for candidate pair 03 is in Ngawen and Klaten Utara sub-districts, while other areas show not significant results.
