Abstract

Scoliosis is a lifelong condition and is defined as a structural curvature (Cobb angle) of the spine >10⁰ on coronal plane radiography. Balance is the ability to maintain body position when placed in various positions. To determine the relationship between scoliosis and dynamic balance at Posyandu Melati 3 Delanggu, Central Java. This research uses an observational approach, which is a type of experiment to determine the existence of dynamic balance at Posyandu Melati 3 Delanggu, Central Java. The results of this research first using the characteristic test were obtained at age which had the highest percentage level, aged 57-63 years had the highest percentage level, namely (44.0%). Then, these two studies used a normality test on scoliosis (0.113 < 0.05) the data was normally distributed and on dynamic balance (0.071 > 0.05) the data was normally distributed. Finally, this research uses the Pearson bivariate correlation test where variables x and variable y are not related. Based on the results of research conducted for 1 week, it was found that there was no relationship between scoliosis and dynamic balance at Posyandu Melati 3 Delanggu, Central Java.
