Abstract

Mesuji Raya Subdistrict is a subdistrict in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency which experienced quite serious road damage because Mesuji Raya Subdistrict is a place that is often passed by heavily laden cars such as trucks and tanks carrying palm fruit and crude palm oil because the subdistrict Mesuji Raya has a large palm oil factory. This research aims to analyze the level of potential road damage in Mesuji Raya District using a Geographic Information System (GIS). GIS is a technology used to collect, manage and analyze geographic data. In this research, GIS is used to map the distribution of road damage and identify factors that influence the damage, such as soil type, rainfall, slope, traffic volume and drainage channels. The results of the research show that road damage in Mesuji Raya District varies based on geographical location and conditions, and analyzes the distribution of potential levels of road damage in potential areas with existing road damage points. This research uses a terrain unit analysis unit. The sampling method used is the structured sampling and purposive sampling method, the structured sampling method is used to determine the sampling point while purposive sampling is used to select the terrain units that the road section passes through. The research results show that there are 2 classes in the Mesuji Raya sub-district, namely low class and medium class, the low class has an area of 372.14 km² with 29 terrain units, and the medium class has an area of 145.20 km² with 13 terrain units. The analytical method to achieve the first goal is the analysis method for assessing the level of potential road damage, namely scoring using a tiered quantitative GIS analysis method, by superimposing all the parameters used, while the analysis method to achieve the second goal is the analysis method for aligning potential damage with actual damage in the field. namely by overlaying a map of the level of potential road damage and a plot of real road damage in the field. The alignment between the potential level of road damage and the point of road damage in the field in Mesuji Raya District is consistent and inconsistent due to several factors including rainfall, drainage channels and soil texture.
