Abstract

The importance of developing the tourism sector is because it has great potential to increase regional income, such as the more tourists who visit an area, the more income will be generated from the tourism sector. Apart from that, the importance of developing the tourism sector also requires a lot of labor. Tourism development aims to increase the attractiveness of tourist attractions through improving facilities and infrastructure, taking into account the 4A principles: Attractions, Accessibility, Amenities and Tourism. Jatitur Village, Gemolong District, Sragen Regency is developing Sendang Kun Gerit, a new tourist destination with great potential. Despite having unique cultural and natural attractions, Sendang Kun Gerit faces challenges such as limited facilities and swimming pool cleanliness problems. This research aims to 1) Analyze the potential of the Sendang Kun Gerit tourist area in Jatibatur Village, Gemolong District, Sragen Regency, 2) Analyze the impact of the potential of the Sendang Kun Gerit tourist area which can make a contribution in the social and economic fields, and 3) Formulate a regional development strategy tourism potential of Sendang Kun Gerit using the SWOT method. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative and survey, field observation and interviews with economic actors and visitors to Sendang Kun Gerit. The results of this research indicate that Sendang Kun Gerit has high natural potential (springs and a beautiful environment) in the bathing area. The impact of tourism potential can contribute to the social and economic fields from the results of interviews with economic actors (local communities). The development strategy that can be carried out according to the SWOT analysis is developing strengths and opportunities by creating tour packages around the Sendang Kun Gerit area and carrying out promotions using social media.
