Abstract

Grobogan Regency is an area that has various kinds of art and culture. Various types of art and culture are often displayed in the Grobogan Regency square when welcoming certain days such as the birthday of Grobogan Regency, Kartini Day, and also other festivals. . Another potential in the arts sector in Grobogan Regency is typical Grobogan batik with its characteristic feature of having plant motifs. However, this typical Grobogan batik has challenges in the promotion and marketing process with there being no place or batik center in Grobogan Regency, this can of course make batik craftsmen in Grobogan Regency experience difficulties in trading their processed batik products. For this reason, it is necessary to build a place that can accommodate batik craftsmen to trade their batik to buyers. The Batik Art Center is one thing that could be the answer in handling the batik promotion and trade sector in Grobogan Regency by helping craftsmen to promote their batik. This Batik Art Center certainly provides supporting facilities apart from batik trading, namely educational and educational facilities related to batik locally and in general. The design method using contextual architectural concepts is expected to be sustainable between the Batik Art Center and the surrounding buildings in the design context. Applying this concept by taking appropriate parameters is then applied to the building design. It is hoped that the existence of this Batik Art Center can contribute to the economic, trade and tourism sectors in Grobogan Regency and can introduce typical Grobogan batik throughout society at large.
