Abstract
The large amount of waste leads to the potential for disease outbreaks and flood disasters. A young man from Bandung initiated actions to raise awareness and enthusiasm among residents in maintaining cleanliness. This study aims to examine the content of messages on the Instagram account @pandawaragroup. The research utilizes the Elaboration Likelihood Model (ELM), which explains two routes for processing messages: the central route and the peripheral route. This theory was proposed by Richard E. Petty and John T. Cacioppo in 1980. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method with content analysis of persuasive messages. The sampling was conducted over a one-year period, from March 2023 to March 2024, encompassing 142 Reels from the Instagram account @pandawaragroup. The results of this study indicate that the most frequently used messages are those containing factual information and field actions. In terms of message appeal, instruments are most commonly used in the peripheral route category. For the central route, messages involving field actions are used more frequently than those containing facts and evidence. The persuasive messages on the @pandawaragroup Instagram account combine factual information and field actions, with instruments used as an appeal.
