Abstract

Responding to the problem of the not yet maximized character education process, as well as in order to face the challenges of rapid technological advances that have given birth to globalization and socio-cultural shifts, the government through the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 22 of 2020 is committed to continuing to strengthen the character and identity of the nation by making the Pancasila Student Profile through the Independent Learning policy as a national education policy direction that must be implemented in every level and unit of education. The Pancasila Student Profile as a reference for the formation of students' character is developed in students, one of which is through the culture of their respective educational units. This study aims to describe the implementation model of school culture-based character education in internalizing the Pancasila Student Profile in Madrasah Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta for the 2023/2024 Academic Year, supporting factors and also inhibiting factors. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data collection methods in the form of in-depth observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study go through the stages of data reduction, data display, data verification, and conclusion. The results of this study show that the implementation model of school culture-based character education in internalizing the Pancasila Student Profile in Madrasah Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta includes routine activities or habituation, spontaneous activities, exemplary of the entire madrasah academic community, conditioning of madrasah facilities and infrastructure, implementation of extracurricular and student organizations, and community involvement. The supporting factors for the implementation of school culture-based character education in Madrasah Mu'allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in internalizing the Pancasila Student Profile are: 1) the existence of student organizations and extracurricular madrasah as a forum for the formation of good character, 2) the strength of the values contained in the vision, mission, and goals of the Mu'allimaat madrasah which is the driving force in realizing the institution's ideals as a printer of ulama cadres, educators, and leaders of Islamic princesses who are manifested through madrasah programs and activities. The inhibiting factors are: 1) not all academic communities, both in madrasas and dormitories, are able to internalize character values optimally, 2) there is not enough exemplary work done by teachers, employees, pamong, and musyrifah, 3) the background of understanding and family experiences of students are different so that there are differences and inconsistencies in the implementation of character values, 4) Monitoring, periodic evaluation, and follow-up have not been carried out regularly and routinely.
