Abstract
The construction of toll roads is the government's effort to encourage sustainable economic growth, which is able to increase accessibility and connectivity in each region. One of the toll road projects on the island of Java is the Trans Java Toll Road which was built to encourage equitable development and regional development, thereby creating a multiplier effect or multiple effects on other sectors. On the other hand, toll road users must pay attention to the condition of the vehicle and driver while driving to minimize the potential for traffic accidents. To address this, there is a need for a Tempat Istirahat dan Pelayanan (TIP) or Rest Area to accommodate temporary rest for drivers and vehicles. By providing public facilities that can accommodate users in meeting their needs. However, there are negative impacts resulting from this development which are felt by local residents who cross the toll road. The decline in the local SME economy and the reduction in visitors to local tourism is due to the availability of other routes which has resulted in fewer users of public roads covering the surrounding area. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to have a Rest Area that can be integrated with the local potential in the surrounding area, by implementing Hybrid Architecture in the Rest Area in Ngawen Village, Muntilan District, Magelang Regency, Central Java with recreational tourism in the Ngawen Tourism Village.
