Abstract

A maternal and child hospital is a special health care facility intended for pregnant women, women with reproductive health disorders, and children under the age of 18 based on disciplines, organs, types of diseases suffered by patients, patient age categories, and other specialties. The methods used are field observation, literature studies related to the regulations of the Ministry of Health regarding hospital design, and architectural precedent studies. The purpose of designing a maternal and child hospital is to create a therapeutic space by prioritizing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services for maternal and child patients according to the standards of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The approach taken in this design is "Humanist Architecture" which aims to accommodate the physiological, safety, belonging, esteem, and actualization needs of maternal and child patients. The result of this design is the creation of a mass of Maternal and Child Hospitals in accordance with the regulation of the Minister of Health by implementing the "Humanist Architecture" approach, so that comfort is created for patients and can help patients heal both medically and non-medically.
