Abstract

Lake Salsabila UMS, is a lake located in the area of campus 2 Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. To the north of the lake a canteen was built as an additional facility which is busy every day. The canteen at Lake Salsabila also has various stalls selling which of course require a large enough amount of electricity to meet their daily production needs. The average daily use of electrical energy in the Lake Salsabila canteen in 5 months is 6.51 kWh with an estimated monthly billing rate of Rp. 329,059.2. This research was conducted to take advantage of the existence of Lake Salsabila to build floating solar panels with an On Grid system which will minimize electricity bills every month. The research method to be carried out is by simulating using the PVsyst software. PVsyst has a detailed and quite complete system, so that the results of the design and losses will be more precise in its application. The design uses module specifications with a power capacity of 545 Wp and a voltage of 49.75 V, and uses 2 inverters with a capacity of 3 kWAC on each inverter with solar panels arranged in series of 2 strings and 7 panels on each string. The average system production for 5 months is 4.23 kWh/day and the system loss ratio is 11.4%, and it can supply electrical energy to the Lake Salsabila canteen of 3.74 kWh/day. This study shows the results of spending savings from the monthly electricity bill rate for the Lake Salsabila cafeteria of IDR 138,737.94.
