Abstract

People with disabilities have the right to get comfortable employment opportunities without discrimination, where government and private companies are required to accept and fulfill workers with disabilities as regulated in Article 53 of Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities. The problem of the right to get a job for people with disabilities until now still experiences obstacles from several internal and external factors, so that it requires an efficient and effective effort to solve the existing problems, and basically the fulfillment of the right to work must be based on Islamic principles. This study aims to determine the implementation of equal opportunities for the right to get a job, to find out efforts to overcome existing problems, and to find out the Islamic view on the right to work for people with disabilities in Surakarta City. Based on the existing problems, this sociological legal research uses an empirical juridical approach method using data collection techniques including literature studies and interviews carried out through qualitative data analysis techniques using deductive reasoning. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the fulfillment of the right to work in Surakarta City has not been fulfilled until now because the facts in the field still have factors that are problematic in fulfilling the right to work, all efforts are always made through the role of the Prof. Dr. Soeharso Integrated Center of Surakarta City, the Surakarta City Manpower Office, and Companies in Surakarta City in order to fulfill the fulfillment of the right to work. In Islamic principles, the fulfillment of the right to work for people with disabilities must be based on the principle of justice with equality and equality of rights in order to create social welfare.
